If a container is washed and moved without a recorded second look, the next shift cannot tell what was checked.

What sign-off means. Sign-off shows defined points were checked: corners, channels, rail gaps, gasket and drain tap. Match the form to your site checklist.

Who looks

Someone other than the washer does the second look. Record the person assigned by your procedure.

The limit of a visual check

A visual check finds visible residue, not a microbiological result. It does not replace surface testing defined by your site.

Drying and sign-off

Record the check before moving the container: ID, time, defect and action taken.

What sign-off looks like. Use a card, board or form. Match body and container ID; put number 042 and signature on one line.

The person finishing the work knows the steps; a second record carries when and by whom the check was made to the next shift.

Why those five points. Corners, channels, rail gaps, gasket and drain tap are examples. Match the form to your SOP.

How often sign-off happens

If not every container gets a second look, follow the site's sampling plan. Record selected IDs, time and result for shift comparison.
