FDA’s US guidance defines RTE fresh-cut produce to include chopped, torn or sliced produce distributed fresh, whether washed or not; cooked/frozen produce is a separate scope. The guide gives recommendations, not enforceable requirements or Turkish law. Do not treat a washed claim as food-safety evidence.

Match order and lot

Compare product description, lot, date labels, packaging and supplier storage instructions with the order. Check that outer-carton and inner-pack codes are consistent.

Record receipt time, route/transfers and, where product instructions require measurement, device, position and result. Photograph tears, leaks, unusual swelling or suspected contamination.

Segregate damaged lots or lots with uncertain records from usable stock and maintain the site’s controlled-storage procedure. Visual inspection does not prove microbiological suitability; authorised quality staff should decide acceptance or disposal with the supplier.
