The carton nearest the door is easy to reach but may not represent the load by itself.
Sampling determines which load locations are checked before measurement begins.
Separate transit and unloading conditions
Verify applicable locations for the transit or unloading stage in the sampling procedure.
The same list of points holds all along the road from dock to shelf; the only thing that changes is how often the load is opened.
Record the point
- Product and lot
- Pallet or load position
- Sample time
- Instrument and result
Prepare the sampling plan before unloading changes positions; record the physical location of each selected carton.
Measurement count alone does not establish representation. Apply the authorised method and decision to the product and process.
