Do not assume how waiting at the dock or warehouse door affects product temperature. Matching door events with load records helps identify where a change may have occurred.
Log each door event
Record opening and closing times, the lot being loaded, outside conditions, and any reason for waiting. Add the location when there are multiple doors.
Match product measurements
Record product temperature before and after loading with the same approved method and specified measurement point. Do not substitute air temperature for product temperature.
Compare the records
Place door duration, lot waiting time, and the temperature trace on the same timeline. Compare runs with similar loading conditions to avoid generalizing from one event.
Choose improvements through measurement
First trial changes to preparation, door-use sequence, or the waiting area; use the same record fields to track results. Do not attribute an effect to equipment or one factor until verified.
