EFSA publishes scientific risk assessments and opinions; do not treat an opinion alone as current law or an operating obligation.

Record the opinion's subject, product group, hazard, use conditions and uncertainties. Ask a specialist whether your product and process are in scope.

After an opinion, look for an adopted measure, implementing text and effective date in an official EU source. Publication of an opinion or draft does not show that a rule is in force.

For sale or production in Türkiye, verify current national rules with the competent authority; for export, separately check destination-market law and buyer terms.

In the compliance record, assign an owner for the opinion, binding text, scope, effective date and affected product/process.

When an opinion or rule appears, do not act on its headline alone; have the official text reviewed and record impact and effective date.
