On a night shift a latch fails or a castor breaks. Identify and isolate the container.
Establish the finding
| Finding | Night shift action |
|---|---|
| Lid, body or latch damage | Identify and isolate under the SOP |
| Castor or handling fault | Stop movement and notify the technical owner |
Record the fault and load
Log the fault. Model instructions and site procedure determine whether equipment may be used.
Physically isolate the container
Log its ID, attach a fault tag and move it to the hold area under the site SOP.
If it is loaded. Follow the local instruction to secure, hold or transfer the load; record the action and receiving container ID.
Who decides
Send the finding and ID to the supervisor and technical owner. Temporary use requires authorization under the SOP and model instructions; otherwise keep it isolated.
What the handover records
Log time, fault, action, affected load and notifications. At handover, show the technical team the work order and hold location.
Pass on any restriction. If authorized, record any restriction, duration and owner as the SOP directs. Tell the next shift directly.
Morning follow-up. Hand the open record to the technical owner. Keep isolation until the model check and site approval are recorded.
