A castor is changed, a gasket renewed, a latch adjusted. Closeout follows the model check and site approval flow.
Three facts for the closeout
- What changed: part name and number, if available.
- Who did it: technician or person authorized for the task.
- When: date and time of the check.
Who closes the record
The opener and closer can differ. The owner reviews the work and model check result, routing extra approval to the person named by the site SOP.
While a part is pending. If the part has not been fitted, do not mark the job complete. Keep the fault status linked to the container ID and segregate it under the SOP.
If the record is delayed
A repaired container may remain listed as pending. After its check, notify the owner and update the record.
If the same part fails again
Compare repeat faults on the same container by date and part number. For example, if three castors were changed in three months, include use and maintenance history in the technical review; do not infer the cause from the log alone.
When the record closes
After fitting the part, apply the model’s post-repair check. Record its result, instruction, checker and date, and complete any required site approval.
Part source
Record the fitted part number and source; provide those details with the fault history in a discussion with the manufacturer or supplier.
