A brake that does not hold is a fault finding; the local SOP and model instructions determine where the container may be used.

Define the check

Use the method and acceptance criteria in the equipment instructions.

If the check fails

Record the container ID and affected castor location.

Mark the container visibly and segregate it under site procedure.

Do not assume default permission for slopes, ramps or loaded movement.

If loaded, use the local work instruction for securing, unloading or transferring the load.

Log who made the decision and which action was taken.

Information for technical service

Include symptom, castor location, observed floor, load status and a photo.

Check the equipment history for repeat faults.

Arrange repair under maker instructions or with authorized technical service.

Return to use. After repair, repeat the check against the instruction's criteria.

Record the result, approving person and return date.

For repeat faults, review use and maintenance records as well as the part.
