Storage conditions and customs handling are separate matters for chilled goods in a bonded warehouse. Verify site capability, access and transfer of responsibility before contracting.

Inspect warehouse conditions

Ask about an area suitable for product requirements, measurement points, alarms and outage notifications. Obtain capacity and service scope from the operator in writing.

Define batch and record access. Specify batch identity, entry/exit time, logger data and record-sharing method in the contract. Ask who retains the data and how it can be obtained.

Verify handling and access permissions

Confirm whether handling such as labelling, sorting or repacking is permitted for the applicable customs regime with the authorised agent or authority.

Write the handoff and deviation process

Record who receives goods at entry, during storage and at exit. Define in advance who holds a shipment, notifies parties and obtains a quality decision on deviation.
