Monitoring during a run and later verification answer different questions. Review planned measurements in run records and plan implementation across period records.

Read data by layer

  • Monitoring: the run measurement required by the plan and recorded corrective action.
  • Verification: coverage, recurring findings and outcomes of earlier actions.

Review the period

  1. Match planned runs to records found.
  2. Separate gaps from measured deviations.
  3. Group patterns by hour, route, vehicle or container.
  4. Compare records before and after a correction.
  5. Record changes that may affect the plan.

Limits of one run

One trouble-free run does not show that the plan was followed at other times or hazards remained controlled. State period and coverage.

Role of the TBX record

A TBX record is measurement data for a particular device and run; it does not replace equipment documentation or the HACCP plan. Link its ID to route and planned monitoring.

Verification reviews evidence about the plan across a period.

From finding to decision

For example, if records are found for 18 of 20 planned runs, investigate two as a coverage gap; those 18 do not represent the whole period.
