An incident review asks separate questions about product condition, timing and contractual responsibility. Assemble time-stamped records on one timeline; records alone do not determine a claim or product disposition.
Build the evidence file
| Record | Review purpose |
|---|---|
| Raw logger data | Time and temperature profile |
| Calibration document | Instrument and measurement details |
| Photos | Opening, pack and indicator condition |
| Handover forms | Transfer time and signatures |
| Event log | Notification and action taken |
Match the timeline. Compare shipment, receipt, opening and excursion-notice times. Add sensor location and time zone; identify missing or interrupted records too.
A record shows event sequence; it does not assign responsibility alone.
Document the opening
Photograph packaging, seals and indicators before opening. Include time, shipment and container ID; segregate affected product from other lots.
Follow the product decision process first. Hold product as appropriate and notify the quality lead. Use, return or disposal decisions follow approved product procedures; a single temperature reading may not be enough.
Notice and communications
Notice time to carrier and recipient
Event ID and affected quantity
Requested raw data and sharing date
Correspondence and actions taken
Prepare for claim review
Review evidence alongside contract terms for handover, notice and record sharing. Legal responsibility requires the relevant contract and qualified advice.
