The goods-in record should document the condition at handover; it should not by itself decide the safety of the entire product lot. Before shelving, match identity, measurement and packaging information in one shipment record.
Match these details at handover
Compare delivery time, product and lot number with the delivery note. Record damaged or wet packaging and signs of tampering. Check indicator and logger data using the site’s defined method; include the device, measurement point and time interval in the record.
Do not infer the product’s history from a single air-temperature reading. If the record cannot be interpreted, expected documents are missing or a finding conflicts with product conditions, identify and segregate the lot under the quality procedure. Release, rejection or destruction should follow an authorised assessment.
Include these fields on the receipt form
Delivery date and time, receiving role, product and lot, measurement method, device or indicator identity, observed condition and action taken. These fields help establish the event time with the carrier and locate evidence during later review.
