A mark on an insulated container's exterior does not by itself show the condition of the inner insulation. Verify shell material and damage tolerance against the exact product model and service document.

Record damage by type and location

Distinguish surface scratches, cracks, holes, dents and delamination. Include a scale, container ID, serial, date and affected face in the photo. Compare with earlier inspections to track growth or recurrence.

If a crack passes through the body, there is an open hole, layers separate or the interior deforms, take the container out of use and refer it to maintenance or manufacturer service. For a scratch that appears cosmetic, use a product test or technical assessment if performance must be determined.

Use model instructions to guide repair

Verify shell material and permitted cleaning or repair methods in manufacturer documents. Do not treat field adhesive, paint or filler as an approved repair. After service, record visual inspection, any required leak or function test, and the decision on continued use.
