A used container's appearance does not show insulation performance. Base the purchase decision on model, condition and matched measurements.

Identify the model first

Compare label, production details and empty weight with technical data for the same model. Ask the seller to document any discrepancy.

Inspect physical condition

Check inner surfaces, corners, joints, drains and signs of damage. Separately inspect lid alignment, seal contact and hinge play.

A weight difference alone does not prove water ingress or insulation loss; ask about accessories and repair history too.

Run a comparative temperature test. Match load, plate preparation, ambient conditions, sensor location and lid openings against a reference container. Set test duration and acceptance criteria from the operation's needs.

One short test does not validate a full route duration. Report logger, product or load temperature and ambient data separately.

Test conditions, sensor location and raw record

Add price and any repair quote to the same evaluation file.

Screen seal contact separately

A paper test is a basic screen for seal contact, not an insulation-performance test. Review it with reference measurements and physical inspection.
