Years in service alone do not show how well an insulated container holds temperature. Track impacts, lid alignment, seal condition, repairs and cleaning history together. Record the container ID, date and finding at each inspection.

Look for crushed or torn seals, latch play, cracks in the body, open panel joints and blistering on the inner surface. Set inspection frequency according to use and incident risk; inspect again after a drop, impact, leak or repair. Visual checks do not replace a performance test.

If temperature performance is in doubt, compare the suspect unit with a known sound reference. Keep model, load, starting temperature, coolant and ambient profile the same, and log temperatures at the same positions. If results differ, limit use and ask a qualified service provider to assess repair or requalification against the model documentation.
