A food transport vehicle is covered by the business's registration. Under the Regulation on Registration and Approval of Food Businesses, the Ministry's provincial directorate issues the business a registration certificate, valid only for the trade name, business address and activity written on it. If any of these changes, the certificate loses validity and a written application is due within three months (Article 6). The regulation text has no vehicle-specific registration or notification procedure.

The rules for the vehicle itself are in Article 13 of the Food Hygiene Regulation. Vehicles and containers are kept clean and maintained, are not used to carry anything other than food, keep food and non-food goods apart where needed, and where necessary hold food at suitable temperatures and allow those temperatures to be monitored. Containers or tankers set aside for unpackaged liquid, granular and powder food carry the marking "Yalnız Gıda İçindir" (For Food Only).

For mobile or temporary businesses such as tents, kiosks and vending vehicles, a permit or registration printout from the relevant body is accepted in place of the business registration certificate (Article 12). If a provincial directorate nonetheless asks for a plate list, file the request and the reply with their dates, whether you use your own vehicle or a contracted carrier.
