Give each body an internal ID; the model name alone does not identify it.

Separate ID from label

Keep the ID stable; link barcode or QR to it and record serial separately.

Fields to track

  • Internal container number
  • Model and serial
  • Label version
  • Active or out-of-service status

If IDs collide. If an ID appears twice, verify both bodies before merging records.
