Site contact patterns, not a general promise, show whether a bumper or impact guard is needed. Log damage examples and verify the option for the specific model.
Record damage with its location
For each event, note the container ID, impact location and height, visible damage and likely contact source. Take a photo from the same angle.
Match the protection to a drawing
Compare recorded contact areas with the manufacturer's drawing for the protection option. Confirm what area the bumper covers and how it attaches to that model; do not assume it prevents every impact.
Verify the order and trial
Get the part code, mounting method, replaceability and added external dimensions in writing from model documents. During a limited operating trial, track new damage to the guard and body using the same method.
If the damage pattern continues, review driving, stacking or dock practices too. Adding a part does not remove the cause of a collision.
