Tie container care to inspection records

After cleaning, inspect seals, latches, castors and dryness. Record findings by container ID and set maintenance timing from use and manufacturer instructions.

Short answer

Give every container an ID and link its manufacturer care instructions to the inventory. After cleaning, inspect dryness, seal, lid, latch and castors; record findings with a photo or work order. Review recurring defects and adjust the maintenance plan to usage frequency; do not assume a fixed service life.

Record each transport container inspection by equipment ID instead of relying on memory. Follow the manufacturer instructions for the specific model's care and storage.

Inspect after cleaning

Check for residue and moisture, seal line, lid fit, latch, hinge, castors and body damage. Enter inspection date and operator on the form.

Describe the defect

Instead of a general 'damaged' note, specify part, location and observation; add a photo if useful. Send findings that affect use to maintenance through a work order.
