How much does a container warm in the sun? Measure under matched conditions

Instead of assuming a colour effect, compare two containers under matched conditions. Log surface, product, shade, duration and sensor position.

Short answer

Base a colour or shade decision on a comparison using the same model, load, starting condition and waiting time. Monitor the outer surface and product zone with separate sensors; log shade, orientation and lid openings. A trial describes only the conditions measured and does not guarantee savings or duration on all routes.

Surface colour alone does not tell you how much a product in a sun-exposed container will warm. Decide from matched measurements under your own load and parking conditions.

Set up a comparison

Use containers of the same model and starting condition. Record load, waiting duration, openings, orientation and shade.

Measure two locations separately. State sensor positions for the outer surface and representative product zone. Record device ID, time and method.

Interpret the result narrowly. Compare surface and product readings separately. If testing shade, a cover or colour, keep other conditions steady.

Record the operating decision

Write conditions, result, next action and owner. Do not generalise automatically to another season, load or waiting period.
