Container selection usually starts from litres, and that is where the most common site problem comes from: equipment of the right volume that will not go through the door. So the building is measured first, and volume is chosen only among the models that fit.
- Clear opening of the narrowest door: the gap between frame and leaf with the leaf fully open.
- The highest threshold and the ramp slope.
- The narrowest corridor where a turn is made, and the lift car.
A corridor often takes the container but not the corner: a body whose long side approaches the corridor width can only turn at an angle, and scrapes the wall. A container that will not go into the lift upright has to be laid down, which disturbs the product inside.
| Isotec TBX (litres) | External width × depth | Base |
|---|---|---|
| 410 | 580 × 803 mm | Ø125 mm castors |
| 600-795 | 757 × 824-954 mm | Ø125 mm castors |
| 900-1170 | 797 × 1200 mm | Steel pallet |
| 1500 | 1023 × 1224 mm | Steel pallet |
Add working clearance to GEBHARDT's external dimensions and compare them with the narrowest opening; for handles and projections, ask Aris Makina for the project drawing. Whether the castors clear the threshold is tested on the same walk-through.
A door's name does not give its clear opening: the passage gap of a so-called 90 cm door is narrower by the frame, the thickness of the open leaf and the latch. So the person who knows the site measures it with a tape and adds the figure to the order file.
