The courier's delivery scan may not be the time the customer collects the product. The wait varies with the drop-off location, such as shade, direct sun, a corridor or an exposed area. Do not set a universal hour limit for these conditions.
For trial deliveries, record notification, drop-off and collection times together. Use a product-level logger in the same trial and note ambient conditions and where the parcel was left. This lets you compare the temperature curve with the actual wait.
Agree in advance on alternatives if the recipient cannot collect the parcel, using the carrier's service terms and the delivery option selected by the customer. Do not present an untested wait as a packaging promise.
