School-period demand varies with calendars, contracts and actual meal counts; it does not begin in the same month or last the same length everywhere. Build the capacity plan by customer and day.
Match demand to delivery windows
List service days, meal quantities, addresses and receiving times by school. Compare contracted forecasts with daily orders and delivery records; show peak days and changing menu or package dimensions separately.
Measure vehicle space used, load weight, loading time, stop time and returned-container count on current rounds. Trial an extra round, different route order, more containers or rental vehicle under the same delivery window.
Document the gap before the season
Assess pilot results by on-time delivery per school, capacity use, waiting and actual cost. If a recurring capacity gap remains, compare purchase and rental using written quotes. Also plan how equipment will be used, cleaned and stored when demand falls.
