How to verify a plate mixture's hazard classification

Match the product code to current safety documentation; do not assume another plate has the same classification.

Short answer

Do not infer hazard classification from colour, phase point or product family. Identify the plate article and supplier, then check that the current SDS or manufacturer safety information covers that exact product. For a spill, follow the product document and workplace procedure for protective equipment, cleanup and any affected load.

Document the contents of a eutectic plate by model and article number. A classification stated for another plate does not automatically apply to the product on site.

Match the product code on the label to the purchasing record. Ask the supplier for current SDS or manufacturer safety information and its product scope.

Check the product name, revision date and classification section. Refer an unclear or unmatched product to the quality or safety lead.

For a leak, secure the area under procedure; assess the liquid, floor and affected load using the document's instructions. An unclassified mixture does not prove every contact scenario harmless.
