A cold plate surface alone does not reveal the state of its contents. Tie readiness to the specific article and the manufacturer's stated preparation conditions.

On the check form, record freezer identity and data, plate batch, instrument, contact or surface location and measurement time. Do not interpret an infrared surface reading as a core temperature.

If shifts produce different results, review the records and loading time together. Set aside an uncertain plate and verify it under the manufacturer's method; do not transfer an untested duration to a different setup.
