GEBHARDT makes the outer shell of its eutectic plate from food-safe, sturdy polyethylene and fills it with a non-toxic brine. At high temperature these two materials are strained together: the plastic softens, the liquid inside expands and the body can swell permanently.

How to wash a plate

Take the plate out of the container, wash it by hand at a separate bench with lukewarm water and a mild dish detergent, rinse it and wipe it dry. A plate does not go into an industrial dishwasher, which runs hot and uses strong detergent. For the washing conditions of a specific plate article, ask Aris Makina; we obtain them from GEBHARDT and pass them on.

After washing

Check the shape, surface and cap of the plate. If it will not enter the slide rail, jams in a rack position or rocks on a flat floor, the body has swollen; take that plate out of service, because forcing it damages the rail and the inner fittings of the container. A plate that leaks is set aside the same way. A one-sentence notice at the head of the line keeps new staff from sending plates through the machine.
