The PPWR is the EU packaging and packaging-waste regulation. Do not assume it imposes the same obligation on every transport pack. Identify the packaging entering the EU market and your role in the supply chain.

Match the scope first

List cartons, pallet wrap and returnable containers separately. Record material, weight, shipment count, buyer and return flow. Keep buyer requests separate from legal obligations.

Check the relevant PPWR provision, application date, role and exemption in the current EUR-Lex text. Confirm uncertainty with the importer, adviser or authority; do not apply a general reuse target to every pack.

For returnables, measure containers sent and returned on each lane, rotations, losses and empty distance. For one-way exports, clarify collection and responsibility with the buyer in writing.

The durable-container logic is not confined to one product: the GEBHARDT range is built on the same principle from roll containers to rim pallets.

Date each packaging record and link it to a shipment. Records support preparation; they do not prove compliance.
