For cargo waiting in a free zone, confirm site operations and customs treatment separately. Do not assume a general procedure, since activity and zone practice can differ.

Three checks before dispatch

Ask the operator for the waiting area and access hours.

Clarify whether cargo or packaging must be opened during inspection.

Confirm customs status and required documents in writing with your broker.

Record plan

Link shipment ID, loading and arrival times, waiting point, instrument/location and handover time in one log.

Product-specific monitoring

Take product conditions and sensor location from the product-owner procedure. Passive equipment is not assurance for a stated wait or ambient condition without a route trial.

If an event occurs

For an excursion or access delay, note time, location, instrument record and who was notified.

Contract and task allocation

Write access, measurement and notice steps into the operating plan with the operator; this does not itself determine legal liability.

Verify status separately

Check the goods' free-zone status and next customs treatment for your transaction with an authorised broker and the relevant zone operator.

Measure waiting time

Collect entry/exit stamps across multiple shipments and inspect the spread. Use the delay range in planning rather than one average.
