Two events reaching the same maximum may not have the same product effect. Say the air reaches 12 °C in both: one fades within two recording intervals, the other lasts two hours. The peak is the same but the heat the product takes in is not; because product responds more slowly than air, height and duration are read together.
For each event, four values are written down separately and the logger time is matched to the event record:
- Maximum value
- Time above the limit
- Recovery time
- Product reading
State the recording interval and any missing data as well. Brief peaks are not classed with continuous deviations, but repeated ones can point to an accumulating process problem and are handled by event frequency. After a deviation the product is not rejected automatically; it goes to quality review.
