A record that rises and falls regularly is not random noise: compressor cycling, door movement, defrost or a sensor sitting close to the cooling source can each produce the shape. When the tooth spacing matches the cycle of a field event, the data is showing behaviour.

  1. Calculate the time between each peak and trough.
  2. Put the results on the same timeline as deliveries, breaks and door movements.
  3. Run a comparison trip without moving the sensor.

The logging interval is a setting to check as well: the sample profile in the WHO guide takes one reading every 10 minutes, and a cycle shorter than 10 minutes is not drawn correctly. If the spacing matches no event, inspect sensor contact and recording settings before changing the thermal design; if it follows the operation, manage how often the container is opened and how long it waits.
