A higher order count alone does not show that a vehicle is needed. Use records to identify whether the bottleneck is cargo space, payload, delivery windows, driver time or available containers.
Compare round capacity in three ways
Use dispatch sheets to calculate stops, cartons or containers and space used on each round. Check vehicle volume, permitted payload and product separation separately; catalogue volume is not the same as usable load.
Trial a second round, more containers, a revised loading order or peak-day rental for the same route, delivery time and product conditions. Record actual round time, empty distance, waiting and delivery completion.
Base the investment calculation on actuals
Add quotes for vehicle purchase, finance, insurance, maintenance, energy, staffing and parking. Compare the total with your own order forecast and utilization records. If capacity is tight only on peak days, show each option's cost separately for busy and quiet periods.
