Fleet and refrigeration units

Refrigerated vehicles, diesel and electric units, servicing, breakdowns. The cooling side of the fleet.

How long you have when the unit stops: the failure test that gives you the number

The time left after the unit stops is measured by the WHO Supplement 11 failure test: set point, roughly 12 hours of stabilisation and the single time that goes into the report.

You handed the trip to another carrier: who gets the bill if the load spoils

Hand a trip to an outside haulier and your liability to the customer stays: Articles 879, 888(3) and 877(1) of the Turkish Commercial Code say so.

The qualification calendar moves the rent-or-buy line: two seasons for a vehicle, three runs for a container

WHO's technical supplements ask for four tests across the hottest and coldest seasons for a vehicle and three repeats for a container. If a rented reefer arrives under a different plate each time, that calendar starts over each time.

6 + 3 + 3 + 3: an ATP certificate has its end date written in from the start

The first ATP certificate runs six years from manufacture, then periodic inspections add three years each, up to 15 in all. At year fifteen the class drops or certification ends.

When the vehicle stops, what keeps the load cold

If cooling depends on the engine, a breakdown stops two things at once; if the cold source is independent of the vehicle, the load no longer shares its fate. The Ministry guide says so.

Pre-cooling finishes before loading: the four-degree rule

Turkey's vocational module asks for the body to be brought down to the product's carriage temperature and, where time is short, caps the gap at 4 °C. That allowance belongs to the body; the product is still loaded at its own temperature.

Why the unit is switched off during loading: three concrete reasons

Review fuel, airflow and icing risks in the module's open-door loading setup; do not generalise it to every vehicle.

Comparing one container across different vehicles

To separate the container's effect from the vehicle's, read run data crosswise: one container in several vehicles, one vehicle with several containers.

Investigate a shared vehicle pattern across containers

Records clustered by vehicle guide review; match run conditions and test container, vehicle and route data separately.

Special purpose vehicle: which definition a reefer falls under

A reefer falls under the special purpose vehicle definition of the AİTM regulation. Which additional rules land on it is decided by the M, N or O category letter on the registration.

How should a refrigeration unit's fuel tank be assessed?

Identify the vehicle's standard tank separately from a tank serving refrigeration; compare registration and approval records with current rules.

The MEB historical list combines product, ambient, body, door and road conditions. A current choice also needs route records and acceptance evidence.

How do you find warm spots in a refrigerated body?

Do not assume the warmest location; map your body using load layout, door events and sensor placement.
