The labels active and passive do not describe a system by themselves. Obtain a diagram showing the PCM's role and any operating refrigeration equipment.
For comparison, hold route, load, ambient conditions, door openings and sensor positions constant. Use the same product target and test duration each time.
Measure energy within the same boundary: is preconditioning included, and how is vehicle-unit consumption recorded? Without this, do not compare consumption between approaches.
Product-specific requirements and temperature records determine suitability. PCM alone does not eliminate active cooling or guarantee route duration.
