To compare prices for two pieces of cold equipment, first describe the same job. Give every supplier the same product dimensions, load quantity, use frequency and cleaning method.
Separate capacity from included items
Request internal dimensions, usable capacity and confirmation of whether plates or shelves occupy that space. Show lid, gasket, castors, installation, delivery and spares as separate quote lines.
If a holding time is stated, request the test report with load, environment, plate type and layout, starting conditions and measurement location. Do not compare hours from different setups directly. Check material compatibility and cleaning method against the manufacturer's care instructions.
Look beyond the one-time price. Add energy, cleaning, scheduled maintenance, spare parts and service quotes to installation and purchase costs. Calculate over a chosen period and expected number of uses; make assumptions visible. Mark items whose scope does not match in the final table and ask the supplier for a revised quote in the same format.
