The same container may carry chilled or frozen goods on different days. Even similar readings can involve different product requirements, loads and run conditions.

The basis for separation

Match each file to the run sheet, verified product information and container ID. Plate type may be a clue; it does not prove the product regime on its own.

Why mixing misleads

  • Applicable product requirements may differ; do not derive a limit from the readings.
  • A short deviation in one group can hide a longer measurement from another in an average.
  • A missing sample interval cannot be counted as measured normal temperature.

Handle mixed loads. If a container holds more than one product, tag it as a mixed run and check each product's applicable requirements through the authorized quality process. Do not automatically choose one limit.

Report groups separately. Show chilled, frozen and mixed runs on separate lines. Alongside counts, state sample size, covered time and data gaps.

Review older data

Reconcile older files with run and product records. If no source is available, keep the group uncertain; do not include it in the average for known groups.
