How to check a thermal container latch closure

Check the latch both empty and at planned load; record alignment, gasket contact and door pressure.

Short answer

Close the door empty and at planned load, then observe latch movement, keeper alignment, gasket contact and load pressure. If closure is difficult or incomplete, record the finding and refer it under maintenance procedure before use. More force from an operator does not prove the defect is resolved.

A seated latch alone does not show correct contact around the door.
