Before interpreting summer and winter deviations, check whether run and record coverage in the periods can be compared.

Conditions for comparison

  • Route: match the same lines; do not rely on fleet totals alone.
  • Regime: examine product and temperature regimes separately.
  • Run: record differences in length, stop count and load.
  • Records: report eligible runs and missing measurements by period.

Outside temperature

Add outside temperature with its date and source to the run record; it is a related variable, not proof of cause.

Read the rate and coverage. Divide eligible runs with deviations by all eligible runs under the same conditions; show the raw count too, and avoid equipment conclusions while coverage or conditions differ.

Review winter records too

Report relevant lower and upper limit findings separately according to product requirements; season alone is not a safe product decision.

Matched conditions strengthen comparison :: Keep denominators, record coverage and changing conditions visible when interpreting a difference.

Tie planning to evidence

Write down the line to monitor, measure and review date; operational and product decisions depend on site procedure and authorized quality review.

Transition periods

Show spring and autumn separately or group them into predefined outside temperature bands; state which rule you used.
