When summer demand changes, base capacity decisions on measured workload. Compare orders, trip duration and equipment use over matching periods.

Define the peak workload

Record order count and volume by day, product, stop and delivery window. Mark missed deliveries and their causes too.

Compare options by cost

List the cost of an extra trip, short-term rental, extra shift and permanent vehicle for both seasonal and off-season periods. Do not assume savings without utilisation data.

Track product conditions too

Match loading and delivery times with product-zone readings. Assess the revised plan against the product procedure; do not use trip count alone as a success measure.

Keep records for next season

Retain peak-period order, utilisation and delay records. Do not base the next plan on memory or one unusually busy day.
