The phrase “ice pack” in a quote is not enough for an order specification. Put the exact article, phase change and conditioning requirements in writing.
Article and dimensions
Request exact model code, outside dimensions, weight and a fit drawing for the container holder; confirm tolerances with your supplier.
Phase and use. Ask for phase-change material or the maker's designation, recommended orientation and use limits. Do not infer melting conditions from a generic name.
Conditioning document
Obtain required freezer conditions, layout and ready-acceptance method. If a duration is quoted, ask which model, load and measurement produced it.
Maintenance and fill information
Request cleaning, damage inspection, fill and disposal information for the intended use. If chemical or contact risks apply, check current safety documentation.
Match before purchase
Compare a sample or technical drawing with the approved specification. Confirm the same article and quantity on order, shipping label and receipt.
