What to verify when ordering a plate-freezing rack

Do not order by capacity figure alone; confirm item number, plate fit and chamber access.

Short answer

Match the quoted item number and market or model revision to the maker catalogue. Check rack compatibility with your plate dimensions and count, then compare rack dimensions with the chamber door and interior. Obtain a drawing or written confirmation before ordering; verify the actual load pattern and access on first use.

A capacity difference across catalogues does not prove an error or equivalence. GEBHARDT lists a 144-plate rack as 6051186 and a 72-plate rack as 7027745; this page does not verify 186. Confirm the order by item number and plate dimensions.

Give the supplier the plate product code, outside dimensions and required cycle quantity. Confirm which plate variant fits the rack and verify the quoted item's dimensions and capacity from the maker drawing.

Check the rack with the chamber: interior dimensions, door opening, rack castors and loading clearance. Compare the workspace with maker limits; the plate count that fits the rack does not prove the rack can enter or leave the chamber.

At receipt, compare the item label and drawing with the order, then trial actual loading and movement. Mark the compatible arrangement and retain a photo or record; do not transfer capacity automatically to another market or model.
