Freezing setup depends on plate model, rack design and airflow in the cabinet. Do not transfer one layout rule directly to different equipment.
GEBHARDT freezing racks leave an air gap for circulation and list 72- and 144-plate examples for the 480 × 280 mm plate size. Use these figures only for the specified rack and plate models.
For a trial load, keep freezer monitoring records, rack position, plate IDs and loading arrangement together. Compare plates of the same model under the same conditions.
Assess representative plates using the maker's stated check method. Appearance, outer surface or weight alone is not proof of full conditioning.
Recheck capacity and placement if rack, freezer or plate model changes. Keep the freezing instruction visible near the equipment.
