Stop count and worsening temperature records may appear together; that association alone does not show cause. First group comparable runs.

Build the groups

Use fixed stop-count bands. For each, record run count, median final reading and highest value; interpret small groups cautiously.

Read the tail

If the median stays similar while only the worst runs rise, review those events. If the median also rises, the pattern is broader, but still does not prove cause.

Match the comparison. Compare runs with the same container model, plate setup, load, route period and logging method. Mark changing factors in the table.

Choose a follow-up

  • Review stop times and lid-open duration on outlier runs.
  • Review preparation or route sequence in a recurring group.
  • Compare again using the same measures after a change.

Season and outside conditions

Record weather and route conditions separately. One year of observation alone proves neither seasonality nor an effect from stops.

A useful report row. For example, show run count, median and outlier for the 1-3 and 4-6 stop groups in one table. This keeps a small sample from being mistaken for the larger group's result.
