Home-care delivery arrangements should follow product labelling and the patient’s ability to receive the item safely. Do not treat every medical supply as temperature-controlled.

Confirm appointment and recipient

Before dispatch, verify order/product ID, lot and storage instruction if applicable, appointment window and authorised recipient. Share patient details only with people who need them.

At handover, record date/time, recipient, package integrity and information provided. If temperature monitoring is required, plan packaging, logger and data handover under the product and transport procedure.

If nobody is available, follow the institution’s return or rescheduling step rather than leaving the item at the door. For damage, delay or temperature deviation, segregate it and refer the decision to the pharmacist or clinical lead.
