The first weakness may be the check record. Keep an owner and completion record for lid, plate and number checks. Note when one person is checking their own work.
Arrangements that help
- Identify required steps and owners in the approved checklist.
- Keep the list accessible where the work happens.
- Hand open records and deviations to the morning shift with an owner.
Lighting is a checking condition

How breaks are arranged

Shift handover
The night team should hand over completed checks, open issues and any equipment concerns in writing. The morning team can review the record and assign follow-up.
Reviewing night departures in the morning. As an example, the morning shift can compare one trip’s checklist with its departure record, then note the missing field, time and follow-up owner. The site procedure sets the review interval.
The night team's record routine
At shift start, confirm check points and owners. At shift end, mark completed work and hand over deferred items with a reason and owner; review these records with the risk assessment before drawing conclusions about fatigue.
