A catalogue reference to EU 10/2011, LFGB or FDA is not by itself proof of suitability for every market and use. Match the document to the destination market and actual conditions of the finished article.
Separate the frameworks by market
In the EU, check EU 10/2011 scope for plastic food-contact materials and articles. LFGB is a German national framework within food and consumer-goods law; do not assume it is the same document type as an EU declaration. For the U.S., check the relevant FDA provision for the specific substance and conditions of use; do not assume a generic FDA certificate.
Request a use declaration for the finished article
Obtain the declaration and supporting test scope for the named product or model. Check whether food type, contact time and temperature, reuse, colour/formulation and cleaning method are covered.
For an EU example, request the DoC for the finished plastic article and check that supporting migration tests match the declared food, time and temperature conditions. This EU scope does not itself establish LFGB or FDA compliance.
