After damage to a chilled load, the sender, carrier and receiver each see a different moment. For a shared investigation, link where, when and how each measurement was taken to the same load identity.
Record the same fields at each handover
For loading, transfer to the carrier and opening by the receiver, write the date and time, lot, container or vehicle identity, measurement point, method, device and result. Where possible, parties should use the same defined method. Clearly note any change in method.
Add stops and container openings with their times. If records were collected during transit, preserve the raw file and device number; match loading and delivery readings to the route record. Do not compare an air reading as if it were a product reading.
This file supports review of the timeline and technical conditions; it does not by itself decide fault or legal liability. Seek appropriate professional advice on contract terms, insurance cover and transport law.
