A small process measurement
In a representative shift or route, log time per form, blank fields, duplicate entry and later retrieval time. Separately capture time spent correcting errors and reviewing alarms.
Link each field to a requirement, product instruction, quality decision or investigation need. Before removing a field that appears unused, check record-retention and quality procedures.
After trying paper and digital options in the same workflow, compare missing records, access and total staff time. Obtain owner approval for a form change and measure again.
