The parcel used to be left with the conductor of the next departure at the bus station and collected that evening at the arrival station. The route is not closed today, but for food each company and each departure makes its own acceptance decision. Varan Anında, which offers bus cargo, writes that low-risk foods, mainly grains and dried vegetables, can go this way; food that needs cold is not in that description.

The routine's strength was speed, but there was no record, no temperature information and no responsible party. The regulation requires ATP-certified special equipment for foods within the ATP scope (Article 5), so a regular shipment that turns into sales is not built on a bus hold.

If it still has to go by bus:

  1. Get written acceptance from the company for the food type, packaging and departure.
  2. Prechill the product and send it in an insulated box with fully frozen cold sources.
  3. Tell the recipient the departure time and record who accepts at handover.

For regular shipments, fast courier in an insulated box and couriers with a cold-chain service have taken its place; an intercity courier remains for same-day jobs, at a high price.
