Build a real demand profile from dispatch and return history instead of automatically splitting the fleet into summer and winter groups. If demand does not vary, separate equipment groups and maintenance calendars may add needless complexity.

Match demand with availability

Tabulate orders, dispatch days, return delays and units under maintenance by week or month. Compare confirmed peak-period loads with serviceable equipment to identify any capacity gap.

Use quieter periods for maintenance

Schedule inspection, repair and cleaning in lower-demand windows; record each unit's status and return-to-service date. Check the model manual for storage instructions for idle containers.

Tie plate arrangements to product requirements

Where products or routes require different cooling arrangements, base the split on product instructions, actual measurements and validated testing. Use group labels, equipment IDs and transfer records; do not let season alone set the regime.
