Plate-conditioning kWh varies with freezer model, other loads and preparation setup. Do not infer cycle consumption or cost from rated power alone.
Before measuring, define cycle start and end events, such as plate loading and readiness under the applicable instructions. Use a suitable meter and record device and measurement point.
Add plate article number and count, starting condition, freezer load, set point, measured ambient, rack layout and door openings to the cycle file.
If the freezer also runs other products or shifts, use a separate submeter or record baseline use before the plate cycle. State any allocation method and assumptions.
Calculate kWh per cycle and, only for comparable conditions, kWh per ready plate. Use your own tariff for cost; do not directly compare different freezers, loads or conditioning setups.
